One important task of the EU-RL is according to Article 32 of Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004 the organization of workshops for NRLs.
Workshops of the EU-RL for Dioxins and PCBs in Feed and Food, the NRLs form EU member states and the EU Commission are regularly held twice a year at the EU-RL in Freiburg, Germany, or at on of the NRLs for Dioxins and PCBs.

In the period 2006 to 2009 eight workshops for NRLs and the EU Commission were organized. At these workshops especially the results of interlaboratory studies were presented and important reagulatory and analytical issues discussed.

Amongst other topics the results of five interlaboratory comparisons were discussed, criteria for extraction of mineral feed and analytical requirements for the determination of non dioxin-like PCBs developed.
